Have you noticed

Have you noticed...
how the older generations always say tell the new ones "at our time... it was harder".
No doubt you must have heard it more than once and i am pretty sure it has always been there.
Using my Togolese background experience, i can say i heard it all the time and still hears it now. I might even have used it myself few times. there is one thing for sure, times are different.

Many people make the mistake to believe that because technology has improved, life just got only better. I believe, it is easier to be lazy now than before. Nowadays it is easy to stay home and have the world brought to you. You can decide to watch TV all day long and have food and other things brought to your doorsteps.
Another thing to consider, is that the world is moving faster, faster than the past 5 years, faster than the last 24 hours. The faster it moves, the more difficult it is to meet its requirements. Maybe i am wrong but the faster it gets, the more it demands form the coming generations and the more the pressure is on the coming generation. The competition out there increases as the number of graduates grows every year. To have the minimum, you need more effort than in the past.

believe it or not, though the technology helped in making few tasks easier, it only makes the choices of life even harder. nowadays we are exposed to so many choices coupled with the pressure to make the right ones. young people have to ignore the distractions that are increasing by the minute. and it is not easy to make the right choice.

that being said, in the past people did not need technology to do useful things for the world and be known for it. to different times, different difficulties. i believe success in life does not depend on our difficulties, but in our dedication to succeeding.
what one should get from these remarks about old life, is that one has to fight in life. in all one does there should be dedication and that is how success is reached. because although we are in different times, the human nature is still the same as well as life and experienced people will give a good insight.
instead of focusing on what young people should do,  understanding them, helping them focus on what they already do well and encouraging them would be more rewarding.
remember...
life is too short to not be the best version of you and show it to the world.
